Welcome to my world of writing, books, stationery and caffeine!
Here is a little bit about the journey so far –
I have wanted to be a writer from the time I was a little girl. I wanted it the way some other girls wanted to be princesses.
I was always a preciouses reader even from a young age I loved the worlds contained in books. I remember spending well past my bedtime hidden under the covers with a flash light and which ever book I was currently making my way through.
Over the last few years I have had a growing desire to dedicate more time towards my goal of being a published writer.
I made my very first headway with this life long goal between 2009-2010 when I was encouraged to join the now discontinued Yahoo voices program. Here I published four different articles all within the parenting and parenting advice sphere.
Once the announcement that they would be shutting down the Voices program I was left without a platform. Over the next couple of years my writing took a back seat to other things in my life.
The only exception to that was half of October and the whole month of November when I would fall down the rabbit hole that is National Novel Writing Month or NaNoWriMo. This is when you write 50,000 words in thirty days. I have participated in NaNoWriMo for the last seven years.
My writing being on the back burner finally took a step towards becoming more about 2 months ago when I discovered a platform called Medium.com. After spending most of a weekend poking around the site, reading what I could find online and looking up posts from others who have experience with the platform on different writing groups that I am on.
I decided to go ahead and sign up to be a contributer and a member.
As of signing up I have published 5 different articles that all have to do with being the parent to a non-nuro typical child.
In the world of book writing I have 2 different projects that I am currently working on. One is actually a trilogy of fantasy books and the other is a contemporary romance. I know, they are both very different subjects. I am primarily interested in writing young adult fantasy , but this contemporary romance has been in my brain for almost 5 years. It started with a dream and since then I have not been able to move past it. So it must be sticking around for a reason.
Currently the contemporary romance is in the rough draft world and the fantasy series has gone back to the world of outlining and more solid world building.
My goal is to start dedicating more solid time towards both of these projects.
A little about the Journey to come and what you will find here –
Here on this blog I will share with you my journey as I walk the path to becoming a published author and writer. You will get to see how I plan my writing time and split it between working on my book projects and my writing on Medium and any other platform that I may decide to use.
Where I draw my inspiration from and how I pull myself through those dark times of writers block or lack of motivation.
You will also get a look into the mind of a book and stationery
